Episode 26 – Gabriel’s Angel by Nora Roberts

Merry Christmas!  For the holiday we read Nora Roberts’ Gabriel’s Angel.  Despite this being listed as a Christmas book in Novelist!  Despite this having holly and a fucking snow globe on the cover of the reissue!  THIS IS NOT A GODDAMNED CHRISTMAS BOOK.  I have feelings about this.  BIG FEELINGS.

I DO like that it’s also a “oh my goodness I suppose we’re snowed in!” book.

He’s a rich-ass painter.  She’s a pregnant lady fleeing a Peril.  There’s no nonconsensual sex in this book, but it does discuss abuse in her past and it’s got one of those “somebody is trying to steal my baby” plots, which I know is not for some people. 

This is our first Nora Roberts book but we both felt it probably wasn’t a great representation of her work (OR A GREAT CHRISTMAS BOOK FOR THAT MATTER.)  We’ll definitely do another one that’s not a series paperback and compare.
